CJM - Chelsea Shimla article

Dear Wiki editors/helpers,

I was a student of CJM, when it was a boarding school. In writing this article, I would like to preserve the beautiful history of the self-giving sacrifices, care and love for the students in their educational/developmental needs as given by the Order of Convent of Jesus and Mary nuns and teachers from all ages in time.

This article attempt to incorporate the boarding history of what it was for more than hundred and thirty years, to its recent shift to being a day school in 2000.

Your editorial help, suggestions and input would be greatly appreciated as this article develop in content as I write.

I may need photos which I have not yet checked at Wikicommons shared photos. I will later. I notice already there is a notice on this draft with sources connected to CJM. I made these edits. Avoid opinions such as prestigious, passionate and so on. Don't list alumni who are not linked to Wikipedia articles about them, and bullet list those who are. Your source in the lead for "It is considered one of the best school in India" doesn't say that, it says Shimla, and I would in any case query why you think "India Famous For" is a better source than, say, a state or national government website. Hello Jim,

I have completed writing the article of CJM-Chelsea, Shimla and I moved it from draft space to publish mainspace. Any input in my final work from you or from any other wiki-editors would be greatly appreciated! I have a few photos of the Chelsea buildings but I have not uploaded to wiki-commons as I have not yet asked the school and none of their pictures can be found in wiki. It is recent photos so I think there may be copyright by India copyright (so I may probably not ask or use those buildings photos).

CJM - Chelsea, Shimla, improving the article

Dear WikiSchoolEditors and helpers, User:Tedder, User:Steven (Editor),

Thank you for recent infobox and citations cleanup on the article on Convent of Jesus and Mary, Shimla, India.

The advice on WikiProjectSchools are good guidelines. Your advice and input would be greatly appreciated for improvement. A few items I would like your input on:

• Chelsea history as a boarding span over 100 years compared to the day school it is now. I would like to break down the history in two parts but not sure how to get that sub section in the infobox. Boarding School 1864-2000. Day School 2001-Present.
• Adding total students enrollment would be good: 1719 (2023-2024).
• Adding the school crest in the infobox. (I see from WikiSchools that under Fair Use as an illustration on infobox that may be ok to copy from the school website? Not violating copyright or a replacement of it?
• Adding Chelsea is a Private school in the infobox
• I have Chelsea school photos of the buildings: church, main building, Claudine Thevenet Hall, school class-rooms building, the Hall room, basket ball court. This one uploading to wiki-commons may be a violation under the Indian copyright law even if I got permission from the school? It is very recent photos and not over 70 years.
• Expanding on the Day School section with more information would be an improvement or necessary?

Dear User:GoingBatty, I appreciate your promptness in verifying the many citations you had inserted in the Chelsea article that was needed to which I had provided. Your diligence in updating the tag and its removal is very much appreciated and not simply tagging it and saying goodbye (left unattended).

This new citation in the Infirmary section, I used other CJM schools ' reference to the infirmary, as Chelsea has not record in its present school website on infirmary and the school fete, then.

I hope you are agreeable to that, as any boarding schools, an infirmary was vital as part of the daily boarding school operation such as the rectory, dormitories, infirmary, class rooms, play grounds, hall etc.

@Setwikirec0: Please note that I only verified that references were added before removing the {{unreferenced section}} templates. I did not read any of the references, make any determination of their appropriateness, or fix the |author= parameters of the references. Thank you to those editors/helpers who have contributed towards Chelsea article, cleanup, typos, citations etc.

A lot of improvement has been done here since User:Shushugah, posted a tag last month. I am unsure whether he has even had a chance to read, follow-up or noticed the improvement for a list of citations he had also asked me to cite, for which i had provided and edited. Kindly re-visit this article and update the tag or provide your input as meaningful as User:GoingBatty and many other contributors had.

Just tagging, forgetting about it and not being able to point out further problems for improvement, leave confusion and disappointment.

@Setwikirec0 hello there! Impressive work addressing the different issues! Tagging a page does not confer a special responsibility on the person who tagged it afterwards. I reviewed the page as part of WP:NPP and even made improvements, but I didn't have to. We're all WP:VOLUNTEERS here. Other users are welcome to add further tags, remove them, etc.. as they have done so here.

One month is not even a long time in Wikipedia editing. See Wikipedia:Tagging pages for problems. I created this article Henderson v. United States (2013) 4 years ago, it was tagged and still is. Hi Shushugah, thanks for your reply. Yes, all WP volunteers big or small (experienced) are appreciated as we all do for more than just 'peanuts'. Jokes side., but seriously, it would be fair to adjust your tag accordingly, especially after so much edits has been done to addressed what you tag says. While other editors may remove your tag, out of respect most will let the originator address it or follow up thru (I would imagine that to be). So please do adjust the tag on Chelsea for issues that has been addressed.

CJM Chelsea article edited/shortened.

Chelsea school history as the boarding spanned for over a 100 yrs. All the boarding events, routines written herein were the same for all boarders year after year. That's how the schooling, education, curriculum and the care the students/boarders received from the nuns and the teachers of CJM. It was consistent over the years until it closed.

I have tried to shorten it. For me to shorten it even more of such a depth of its history, would be to just say what is already on its website, short and only related to the present day schooling. That would not make the history of Chelsea. It is so much more. But I certainly appreciate your input and advice User:Shushugah. I'll try to edit a bit more for prose.

User:Shushugah , Thanks for your suggestions to insert citations, which I have from Chelsea website. Other citation on Sr. Celsius life and works, the nuns never wrote about themselves or each other, but did their work quietly to be unknown. A lot of Chelseaites reminisced nuns, teachers who had a great effect on their upbringing, which they do share on the Facebook. But such citations are not to be cited here on Wikipedia. Others may have written in their blogs, which again may not be cited.

I have added back Refectory and school outings only to the shortest sentences, as these were part of the lives of the boarders at Chelsea.

Thank you kindly for helping me to shorten this article to the most condensed, important and relevant events/history.

CJM Shimla - wrong address, motto and unnecessary redirect by Job Chodh Du

Dear User:Jimfbleak User:GoingBatty User:Tedder or any of the Admin. Editors,

This User:Job Chodh Du , in my view came purely to put wrong information by his/her changes on June 29th and June 30th, to Convent of Jesus and Mary, Shimla, article. I have corrected by undo to 1) the school address and 2) school motto.

However, this Chodh has caused a redirect link, which is entirely unnecessary, difficult to link or find the article. I would like to revert and undo this. I tried, but found some error warning message of caution, so a higher administrator help would be needed.

Could you or any of the administrators kindly undo what this Chodh did? Also, I'd like to report this user, and feels the article is targeted by a vandal.
