Hello! My name is Maggi Brisbin and I was asked to serve as an expert reviewer for your new page on Coral Reef Restoration. I am a postdoc at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts and previously Worked in Okinawa where coral conservation was one of my research and personal interests. I am really excited to provide a review for your page - it is fabulous that you have added a reef restoration page to Wikipedia.

Overall there is a lot of great information included in your article and there are quite a few references provided. I think a shift in the organization could improve the article and really help readers find the information they are looking for. I am providing a few suggestions below.

1. The introduction section (above the contents box) should be more focused on the topic of the page - coral reef restoration. As it stands, the intro is more focused on the coral reef structure and biology. I would try defining different types of restoration in the introduction, such as fragmentation vs recruitment and different types of artificial reefs. Artificial Reef actually has an extensive page already and it would be great to link that in here.

2. I think it is great that you give an overview of threats to coral reefs and provide a lot of wikilinks on to more information on the different threats. Currently, it looks like you may be planning on expanding this section because it is broken out into subheadings. I would recommend the opposite, consolidate it into one short paragraph with lots of links. The topic of the page is not threats, so you don't need a lot of detail, but it does provide a nice background to the actual topic of your page: restoration.

3. You did a great job gathering primary literature references and compiling research presented in the literature. It would be easier for a general audience to understand the page, however, if you do a bit more synthesis and summarization. Currently, the sections on restoration read a bit more like a research paper than a Wikipedia page. Try removing the Author et al. citations and just use the numeric citations at the end of the sentence. Also, try giving more definitions in these sections. For example, the Fragmentation section starts with a result from a research project rather than a definition of fragmentation.

Overall, this is a great start to a new page. It is clear you did a lot of research and read many papers to bring all this information again. Thank you for adding this to Wikipedia! If you have any questions about my review or want me to read your page again, don't hesitate to message me!

Coral reef restoration

• ... that coral reef ecosystems are a great indicator of environmental health?
  • ALT1:... that, due to the increased impact of climate change, coral reef ecosystems are suffering bleaching events and dying off substantially?

• Its more than long enough and the hook is quite interesting. Its got good sources. I changed a word in the hook and added an image - which I think interesting. I spotted no close paraphrasing.
