This should likely be merged with trajectory

I added the possible start of of the 2 co-ordinate systems being used, but otherwise, I agree it should be moved with 'trajectory', but only on the bases that it covers similar content. It could however also be useful on its own as there isnt a decent article that explains all the topics of curvilinear motion != trajectory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.232.75.208 (talk) 17:07, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be linked to from trajectory and should link to trajectory, but it may be useful to have this page as a short definition. However, at the moment it leaves a lot to be desired. For one thing, claiming that two coordinate systems are used is incorrect. Any coordinate system can be used and the system is generally chosen for convenience. It is probably better to just link to the article about coordinate systems. Also, listing planar motion as a coordinate system is incorrect. Planar motion is motion which is restricted to a plane but it could be described in Cartesian, polar or any other two-dimensional coordinate system. The distinction is between planar motion vs. motion which occurs in 3-dimensions.

I think this should be a short definitional article with little more than links to articles with more detail. --Gleedadswell (talk) 14:01, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
