Deletion and rebirth
[edit]A previous article with this title was deleted, for reason "G12" (copyright violation). The topic remains notable, so I wrote new text for a stub, and included lots of reliable sources. Thus I think this article shouldn't be deleted on the grounds due to the previous article's deletion. --Jdlh | Talk 07:12, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
\this man was accused of murder and spent a year in a Swiss jail. during this period he became a public figure both in Canada and Switzerland. this article, which mentions none of that, is a joke Cognoscente18 (talk) 02:04, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- I agree it should be mentioned in some form. Even Current Anthropology, the journal Cyril Belshaw had edited at the time, describes the case in this retrospect, explicitly wondering that "his Wikipedia entry today does not even mention the murder, trial, or prison time." - "Obituary for noted UBC professor Cyril Belshaw left out one key fact – he was acquitted at famous trial of killing his wife" (The Globe and Mail) Axolotl Nr.733 (talk) 11:38, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
January 2008 revert
[edit]I am reverting the January 6, 2008 edit [1] which added unsourced text of questionable origin. • Gene93k (talk) 20:05, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I can see why you reverted this, but some discussion of his trial is necessary. It was certainly an important part of his life, and it was the first time most people had ever heard of him. Ellen Godfrey's book could be cited.
Emission "Zone d'ombre" (Radio Télévision Suisse)
