Hello

[edit]

Hi, this is the person who created the article here, Phil. I just want to make a couple of notes. 1) The data i used is referenced from the other pages. These are linked in the article in the first colum 2) There was difficulty in deciding some stuff. In the first colum for Fine Gael, I have linked them to Sinn Fein (Pro Treaty) and Cummann na nGaedhael. This is my opinion (and many others that they are directly related. Sinn Fein (Anti Treaty) caused problems. I am sure the supporters of the current day Fianna Fail and current day Sinn Fein see them as the current day successor to this party. maybe they are right. maybe they are wrong. However, it is my contention that from an historical point of view, Fianna Fail split from Sinn Fein and the later day Sinn Fein split from them later to form Provisional Sinn Fein while the other original part went on to be Sinn Fein the workers party. As a disclaimer, I do not support any of those 3 parties so this did not tie into my decision 3) I note from the 2007 page, the fathers responsibility party, immigration control party and other parties were featured. I decided to leave them out as they did not break 0.1% of the vote. 4) It's a cumbersome table. 5) The other column includes the Ceann Comhairle's 6) It is my intention to add local election summaries also. Hi, I made some updates to this table. I have separated all the political parties, as they can be endless argument about which party descends from which. It makes the table bigger but its less contentious. Snappy (talk) 20:31, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I also like the colours that were added to it Phil Nolte (talk) 22:16, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ULA

[edit]

So we have this election tomorrow ;) but anyway a point of note is that with the election there is the United Left Alliance and I feel let's raise this point now. How do you feel the ULA should be shown? As each contingent part of it separately (Socialist Party, People Before Profit and then the others - Bree, Healy) or as one? Personally my view would be as the ULA is not officially a political party (a news article stating this is linked on their page), it should be shown separately. However, i'm open to other's thoughts on the subject. Phil Nolte (talk) 19:35, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
