Overview (plot/synopsis)

[edit]

Not only is this section poorly written AND includes first names (WP:LASTNAME), by definition, it is a super summarized synopsis of the season. Please refer to MOS:PLOT and WP:NOTPLOT to understand that this "should contain more than a recap or summary of the works' contents." Additionally, if you also refer to this, I did not use the DVD summation and instead used my own words. Ivaroa (talk) 22:56, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cast

[edit]

Based on this article, it is stated that the main focus of the show are the mothers and that their daughters play second fiddle, thus the mothers are the ones being paid per episode and not the girls because they would be considered "professionals" and not aspiring dancers. With that said, the mothers are billed before the girls and therefore the dancers are not given their own section and mentioned next to their mothers. Secondly, under "guest performers", I only included those who [a] had a significant role in the season throughout [b] had any amount of accreditation through Lifetime or Abby Lee (such as Gianna or the Senior Dancers), and thus I added citations to prove their credit. The Dance Moms' IMDb and Wikia are not strong enough credits for other dancers such as those who dance with CADC because their mothers weren't with them nor interviewed. In reference to the "guest dancers" i agree with you, I simply added them to the cast as they appeared in the episodes. In regards to the style of the cast section. Yes the moms are the mains, however there wouldn't be a show without the "dancers" and they are they ones that feature in the show the most. Also, as I have said many times, the format you have chosen to use in the season articles is already used in the main articles. If you want to expand on that, then feel free, however, on season pages it is easier to list the cast by the "dancers, moms and supporting cast" as that is the easiest way for readers to know who was in each season. As I have explained to you on Ivaroa's talk page and your own, MOS:TV doesn't differentiate between the way that cast lists are presented in any article. The same format can be used in all articles. I agree that the moms should be listed before the dancers. As I explained in an edit summary, the show is called "Dance Moms" (emphasis added) so the moms should be first. It's also consistent with the way that the guests are listed. --AussieLegend () 13:05, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there are a number of "guests" listed on these pages that don't have any citations, and it's not that i don't believe you because I saw the show and they are on it, but according to WP:V, there should be proof or else editors will keep adding false names. Thus, I removed most of them. If you want to take care of that, you can always go to the wikia. Ivaroa (talk) 13:29, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems

[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
