The Damage Records Website

[edit]

The site listed for Damage Records appears not to be connected with Danny Wood's record label.

Damage Records, as Danny's label, no longer exists. But it was the label for his Room full of smoke albums. ErzsieHDR (talk) 00:16, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Editing the Page

[edit]

There is still a lot missing from this page, including citations. I would love to get some help in adding to this article so that it can be accepted. --ErzsieHDR (talk) 22:31, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I plan on putting any major updates on the talk page as I'm still a newbie, but one of the sources that has a lot of information on Danny's personal life is New Kids on the Block: Five Brothers and a Million Sisters, The authorized biography by Nikki Van Noy. Further, his websites, Remember Betty, and The Wood Works, have lots of good information about his foundation and his motivation for starting his youtube episodes. --ErzsieHDR (talk) 20:07, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I have so far for the lede (lead)? I know I need more sources, so this is a work in progress.

Daniel William Wood (born May 14, 1969) is an American singer, songwriter, philanthropist, actor, fitness enthusiast, and producer[1][2]. He is a member of New Kids on the Block and served as a choreographer in the late 80s and 90s. Danny found a love for music in elementary school. He sang with the Trotter Chorus. He also breakdanced and rapped.[3]. After joining New Kids on the Block in 1984, he attended school until his sophomore year at Boston University. He dropped out after the New Kids on the Block released their second album.[4] After the group dissolved in 1994, Danny raised his son (Daniel William Wood, Jr), born 1992 and managed various businesses. In 1999, he released his first solo album, Room Full of Smoke, under his own label, Damage Records.[5] He has since released seven albums[6]. Since the reunion of the New Kids on the Block, Danny has continued as a solo artist, a philanthropist, actor, and health enthusiast.[7]

1.1 1969-1983: Early life
Daniel William Wood was born on March 17, 1969 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, to a working-class Catholic family. Danny was the fourth child of six and the oldest son of Elizabeth "Betty" Wood and Daniel Wood, sr. His father has Irish ancestry, and his mother had Portuguese ancestry. Danny was very close to his mom, of whom he says, "I tell my kids all the time that everything that’s good in me came from her,".[1] Starting in first grade, Danny was one of many Dorchester students participating in the Boston bussing program based on the Racial Imbalance Law[2][3] He attended Trotter Elementary School along with bandmates Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, and Jon Knight. Early on, he joined the Trotter chorus. In middle school and high school, he joined Donnie Wahlberg doing rap performances and breakdancing.[4]

Info Box

[edit]

Can someone please edit the infobox to reflect Danny's parents: Daniel Wood, Sr., Elizabeth Wood

I've been trying to add that, but I must be doing something wrong. --ErzsieHDR (talk) 23:52, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
