Dardanians
[edit]- Dardanians, should redirect in the disambig page, as there are many named Dardanians but remain unrelated. We should make Dardanians (Balkans) and so on for specifics.Megistias (talk) 14:56, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit]I think that "Kingdom of Dardania" should be renamed to "Dardania". Most sources use the term "Dardania" to refer to the region of Dardania in classical antiquity. The term "Kingdom of Dardania" is ahistorical. We know that at various points in the long history Iron Age Dardania, a polity existed. Whether that polity was a monarchy ("kingdom") or a tribal polity is something that we don't know. Most sources don't call this polity a "kingdom" despite the fact that its leader was recorded as a "king" in primary sources of antiquity.--Maleschreiber (talk) 21:39, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- Support: If "Dardania" is overwhelmingly used in bibliography, we should respect that.--Lorik17 (talk) 21:44, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- Support Seems straightforward enough.--Calthinus (talk) 06:04, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- Support: I agree, "Dardania" is the most appropriate name. – Βατο (talk) 11:47, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. The Roman province is better known than the kingdom and there are several other uses. No clear evidence for primary topic has been provided. And this should be framed as a proper requested multi-page move discussion. older ≠ wiser 12:54, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
