Requested move

[edit]

David Alfaro Suiqueiros → David Alfaro Suiquieros … Rationale: His last name is spelled incorrectly. (This also needs to be fixed throughout the article, as well as in the Spanish language Wikipedia.) Ieke85

Dates

[edit]

User:64.40.45.30 recently chaged the dictator Siqueiros rebelled against from Porfirio Díaz to Victoriano Huerta. I don't know whether this is right or not, but Porfirio Díaz seems to have fled the country in 1911, so it would certainly suggest there is a problem.

However, it looks like there might be a bigger problem with dates throughout this article. Since Siqueiros was born so late in the year, statements such as

In 1911, when he was only fifteen years old, Siqueiros attended the Academy of San Carlos

must presumably be wrong. For most of 1911 he would have been fourteen. -- Solipsist 08:29, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Was He Born in Brazil or Chihuahua?

[edit]

The article states both. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.113.49.57 (talk) 01:24, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The entire Summary section (as well as most of the intro) appears to be a copyright violation, copied and pasted from http://artwelove.com/artist/-id/8acd67eb. While it's possible that the external site copied from Wikipedia, that does not appear to be the case. There's no mention of Wikipedia, and other articles on that site are not copies of corresponding wikiarticles. Unless someone can demonstrate otherwise, the copied material should be rewritten or removed. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 20:17, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will clear it tomorrow, yes, you are right. (Saying this as an editor, not of this article though! --MWOAP (talk) 03:06, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The passage on Harte is libelous and comes from a very questionable source

[edit]

Trotsky himself, as well as Deutscher, believed that Harte had been murdered by Siqueiros' gang, and that he was innocent. Deutscher (THE PROPHET OUTCAST)believed that he was killed because, as a result of the attack, he know that Jacson, Trotsky's eventual assassin, was a Stalinist agent, for Jacson must have been the one that beguiled Harte into opening up the gates of Trotsky's house to the gang. Service's biograpy has been by now thoroughly discredited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.235.19.127 (talk) 00:46, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish Civil War

[edit]

"He spent the better part of 1938 with the Republican Army in Spain fighting Francisco Franco’s fascist uprising "

Any reference for this? Siqueiros did visit Spain, but there is no evidence that he was involved in actual fighting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.46.2 (talk) 23:12, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A Contradiction that Needs Resolution

[edit]

The article's text is emphatic that Siqueiros was born in Chihuahua City and not in Camargo, but the box at the top right states he was born in Camargo. I think it should state that he was born in Chihuahua City, but perhaps I am missing something? LankyYankee (talk) 14:23, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
