- They recorded over a tape that had music on it, but even after it had been recorded over, you could still hear the old music a little bit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.45.194.27 (talk) 23:18, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Death tapeJonestown death tape – The title "death tape" is overly ambiguous for this redirect, as it would appear to the casual observer that it refers to recordings of deaths and/or suicides in general—in the same way that "sex tape" refers to amateur pornography in general. I suggest that the title of this redirect be changed for proper clarity. 114.75.67.23 (talk) 15:11, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note that Death tape is a redirect which was an article, if the new title is better then it could still be moved. Crouch, Swale (talk) 15:21, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • I was not aware that this redirect was formerly an article. I performed a search of the logs and found no matching items. Regardless of whether or not it was ever a full article, the title as it stands now still strikes me as too ambiguous. A quick Google search reveals that the term "death tape" does seem to be primarily associated with the Jonestown death tapes, but most sources seem to refer to the tape as either the "Jonestown death tape" (my suggestion) or the "Jonestown massacre death tape"—both of which are far more descriptive than the current title. 114.75.67.23 (talk) 15:44, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The current title is far too ambiguous, and could refer to any older recording of a death. 50.248.234.77 (talk) 03:46, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
