On the name Dhar
[edit]The paragraph: "It is also a Bengali surname which is common in Kolkata and other parts of Bengal. Some names are Debendra Bijoy Dhar, Shyamal Dhar, Subhraneel Dhar etc." is absolutely irrelevant, and should be removed immediately.Joy1963 17:58, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
{{WP India}} with Madhya Pradesh workgroup parameters was added to this article talk page because the article falls under Category:Madhya Pradesh or one of its subcategories. Should you feel this addition is inappropriate , please undo my changes and update/remove the irrelavent categories to the article -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 11:43, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Mihira Bhoja
[edit]There is no epigraphic or other historical evidence linking Dhar to king Mihira Bhoja of the Pratīhāra dynasty. It's been removed as a result.
Sites in Dhar
[edit]Earlier edits have made a dog's breakfast out of this article. The parts dropped in using a "cut and paste" method are very close to vandalism see Wikipedia:Vandalism. Moreover, this article is in danger of becoming a soapbox, see Wikipedia:NOTSOAPBOX#SOAPBOX The Persian inscriptions in no case mention anybody "... proselytizing through torture", as offered to us in the edits of 117.254.76.170. This is an unsubstantiated assertion, unsupported by historical evidence. RoverDingbat
Festivals
[edit]All this part has no references. Moreover, it seems more relevant to Dhar district than Dhar itself, so perhaps should be shifted there. Mandu has its own article. RoverDingbat
Geography
[edit]The geography section deals with Dhar DISTRCT as a whole and has been moved there. Zippymarmalade (talk) 12:47, 15 November 2011 (UTC)zippymarmalade
Pawar Rajputs and City Palace
[edit]The Agnivaṃśa affiliation of the Pawars is not directly relevant to the palace, so the discussion has been edited accordingly. Pawar article needs further development but that is, of course, a separate matter. RoverDingbat

Serols
[edit]Someone called Serols is repeatedly rolling back the copyedits I'm making on Dhar. I don't know if this is someone manually doing it or a bot, but please stop. I am working on a Ctrl F replace all mistake I made earlier, but I want to keep my grammar edits in place as they took me hours. Shotgunscoop (talk) 16:50, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Shotgunscoop, please note the article name, here is Wikipedia.en. --Serols (talk) 16:57, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Serols: 'Dhar' is the title of the article - thanks Shotgunscoop (talk) 19:03, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
Serols and Shotgunscoop, you're both talking past each other. The level of communication here has been minimal. The complete lack of informative edit summaries and the almost content-free statements here make it impossible to understand what information is unacceptable or why. I ask both of you to stop discussing the contributors and focus on the content. Shotgunscoop, what changes would you like to see in this article and what sources do you feel support those changes? Serols, you have been here long enough to know that good faith attempts to improve an article are not vandalism and to provide edit summaries that let others know why you are reverting changes. Please specify why you object to these changes. I hope that helps mediate this impasse at least slightly. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 19:45, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Serols Eggishorn Ok, I'll try to explain. I've been copyediting this article as it has been backlogged from September for copyediting. I don't know exactly why my edits are being reverted, but some people over at the Help Desk suggested it may have something to do with my changing of Dhar to the version with diacritics (line over the a). It could also be because I accidentally removed some spaces while using the Replace All function while changing the version of Dhar to the one with diacritics. Either way, the vast majority of edits that I made in this article were to improve comprehensibility and grammar. I did not intentionally make content changes (perhaps non-intentionally). The reason I don't want the article to be rolled back is because all of my useful grammar edits got deleted along with whatever it was Serols wanted deleted. I was in the process of fixing the Replace All mistake and some additional grammar when the page was reverted and I intend to finish up with it after this is resolved. Thanks, Shotgunscoop (talk) 20:22, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Shotgunscoop these two edits 1 2 looked like vandalism to me - Dhar -> Dhāris. I thought everything was clear with my message - Dhar and not Dhār, moreover, where you also confirm it here. I also don't understand why you didn't ask me. You just have to write Dhar in your editing and everything will be ok. I deleted the warnings on your talk page. Regards --Serols (talk) 08:29, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- Serols aight I'll fix it right up - I'm pretty new to Wikipedia so I'm still trying to figure things out Shotgunscoop (talk) 12:33, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- Shotgunscoop fine. If you need help, please ask. Regards --Serols (talk) 12:41, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
