[edit]The FDA in United states does not approve dietary supplements. The FDA web site just lists that the manufacturers statement that Diosmin product will be marketed in USA.129.59.8.10 00:55, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Right you are. The FDA even said that there was not enough information submitted to demonstrate safety. I edited this to remove some of the most promotional claims. Nbauman 07:11, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Absolutely. It is a "Vascular Constrictor" which means that it may induce unstable angina and a potentially lethal myocardial infarction in persons with or pre-disposed to heart ailments. I had such an effect from "Butchers Broom" - and it took extensive research to discover that its "mechanism" (for "reducing varicose veins") is to deliberately induce Vascular Constriction. Just like Diosmin. 64.40.62.35 13:52, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Isn't diosmin a naturally occuring flavone, and the phlebotrophic drug that this article refers to is Daflon?Markwdck (talk) 21:05, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
phlebotonics
[edit]I am trying to create a new placeholder for "phlebotonic" a more used synonym for venotonic, which would be a main category article for Calcium dobesilate and many other entries in a category of the same name. But it is very rapidly redirecting me to the Diosmin#Phlebotonics which I am unable to see from my log in. Requesting an admin to please remove the redirect and notify me. --Dr.saptarshi (talk) 05:59, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
