This is more a soil phenomenon than a geology phenomenon. Reliable sources will be based in soil science. I support moving this page to Dispersion (soil), or merge with Hydrophobic soils. -- Paleorthid 22:05, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is the definition of dispersion?

[edit]

Is dispersion the equi-distribution of any "particular chemical constituent or element" ?

Or is the meaning more specific? The only example given is sodic soils. How does this example meet the above definition? Is it because the chemical element sodium spreads around everywhere, evening out its concentration?

Or some other material? Is it expansion (and fragmentation?) of clods, leading to movement of soil parts and erosion, as suggested later in the article? 178.38.100.65 (talk) 19:03, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
