Characters[edit]

Why is it Franboise instead of Framboise. The latter means raspberry in French while the former means nothing. Sure it's フランボワーズ, but there are no words that have an 'm' with a consonant following. This is why they always romanise words like this w/ an 'n' instead of an 'm'. Ichigo69 (talk) 06:08, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I updated the character list as well, namely the three new characters from Pastillage mentioned in official website, and some small trivia here and there like the new weapon names, etc. I know nuts about French/Italian/<whatever language the names are in> though, so corrections will be appreciated. Character names[edit]

There seems to be a difference in romanization between the characters' names. I checked the Japanese wiki page and noticed that there are some differences.

Ex: EN Wiki→JA Wiki

Cinque→Sink
Rolan→Loran
Brioche d'Arquen→Brioche Dalkian
Leomitchelli→Leomichelli
Framboise Charlie→Framboise Charle

If there is some sort of official guidebook to the series that shows the official English names, I would much appreciate it. I just wanted some sort of clarification beforehand. K2NR (talk) 17:08, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

JA Wiki is only accurate to a certain. I had it romanized as Sink initially as well (there were multiple edits from various people, mainly from Sink to Shinku), but later confirmed it as Cinque in either Megami Magazine or Newtype (most likely the former, can't remember and it's almost impossible to find with the mountain of magazines I piled). I watched Crunchyroll's subs and noticed they use Sink instead of Cinque. Since Crunchyroll is the only legal sub, should we use their romanization of names instead? K2NR (talk) 15:36, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, since Cinque is half-English, shouldn't his name be Sink (this spelling was also used in the BDs' English titles, RAWs, not fansubs). For what I know, Cinque is not half-French. If he was, it would make more sense. K2NR (talk) 00:31, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About manga adaptation[edit]

Name stylization[edit]

I would like to know why the correct stylization for names such as DOG DAYS, SCARLET KNIGHT, etc are not accepted. I know Wikipedia frequently uses the wrong stylization (eg. Uverworld instead of UVERworld) but I never understood why (I have read Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Trademarks#General_rules). Would anyone enlighten me on why Wikipedia prefers English text formatting and capitalization rules to correct stylization? Heavenwargod (talk) 18:40, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
