The Prudhomme Joke[edit]

David Letterman popularized a joke in the 1980s about both Don Prudhomme and Paul Prudhomme (a famous cook and restaurateur).

"I just went to the new Prudhomme restaurant."

"Oh, Paul Prudhomme?"

"No, Don Prudhomme. I had the funny-car veal and nitro-burning prawns and puff-pastry."

7.99 pass[edit]

Wasn't Prudhomme the first to break the "8 second barrier" in drag racing? I recall reading this in a magazine in the 60's but can't find a reference to it now. Nibios 22:48, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone add any personal information?[edit]

Can anyone add any personal information? I have found several sources that say he is "American/French Creole" ("American" meaning "Caucasian") and has always ignored the question of race/ethnicity. So, is he -- or has he ever been -- married? Does he have any children? Grandchildren? Does he have any interests outside of NHRA racing? 2603:800C:3A40:6400:B159:9E60:37C:8F05 (talk) 01:56, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
