Baron Culloden

[edit]

I have always wondered about this subsidiary title. Is it really a reference to the Battle of Culloden? Does that seem like terrible PR to anybody else? Surely anything which reminds Jacobite sympathizers or patriotic highlanders of that battle can only serve to make for awkwardness; you'd think that they'd have tried to put it behind them! Or can there be some other reason why Culloden, Scotland merits use as a subsidary title? Doops 20:04, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Line of Succesion

[edit]

Doesn't the Duke of Kent and his descendents follow in the line of succession of this dukedom? The Prince George, 1st Duke Duke of Kent was the younger brother of The Prince Henry, 1st Duke of Gloucester, I think they follow on the line. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.203.192.134 (talk) 16:57, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Query

[edit]

I wonder what is involved with this dukedom, beyond the title itself. Are any properties or customs connected to it? Or are all of the dukes of this line expected to provide their own income independent of both the civil list & any royal estates? (I know I'm confused in my terminology, but I'm groping after an answer deep in ignorance.) -- llywrch (talk) 09:08, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
