Images

[edit]

I think they should be changed. They've been changed before, and I don't see why there are just two images, both of which of a polish soldier and a polish APC. How about something representative? Like one of the (countless) images of refugee camps, with EU troops protecting it. Or perhaps one of something more 'unusual' such as the cavalry (yes, real horses) force that is used during the rainy season. Or perhaps a convoy of jeeps driving through one of the villages with locals looking on. - I just want something more interesting and more telling, and not just some straight forward 'file' photo of a guy and gun, it could be anywhere. However, I am not very good at uploading images, and I still don't understand the copyright issues.

So here are the links for my above suggestions:

French mounted troops (reason is: rivers flood, very muddy and jeeps can't drive any more in certain small villages)

Slovenian forces

Irish troops patrolling in village

it says use: "The Council of the European Union" has author for credit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lexxus2010 (talkcontribs) 08:45, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Date

Data on mission here, don't have time to add myself right now (on wikibreak, only a moment online before I loose my connection again)- J Logan t: 12:27, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

The official name of the article should be EUFOR Tchad/RCA, using French spelling. That is the official name of the mission, even in English. The English name should redirect to the article. If nobody objects, I shall move the page. See the official EUFOR Tchad/RCA page on the EU Council website[1].--Scotchorama (talk) 09:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers

1. I always understood a battalion to be about 600-700 men, so when I saw this in the "Contributors" section, I was rather sceptical: '...provided a battalion of 2,000 soldiers...". Is this correct ?
2. What does "Germany-Four, Greece-Four, United Kingdom-Four" also in the 'Contributors' section mean ?
3. What does "...three third countries..." mean ? This rather confusing phrase appears - guess where - in the 'Contributors' section.
