A-Class

Great article. I can't see any reason for this not to be A class, it's certainly much better written than most of our B-class articles. Lack of inline citation will be an issue should you wish to put this up for GA for FA - it's perhaps not really necessary on a relatively short article like this and Wikipedia guidelines aren't quite as definite about the need for it as some reviewers think. You've probably seen the sample text with every word mispelt, but which remains perfectly readable. It gets e-mailed around a lot. I think the theory is that if the first and last letters are right, the brain's not too fussed about the order of things in between, so I shouldn't be too hard on yourself! 4u1e 22:14, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:All American Racers logo.gif

Image:All American Racers logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Flamin' bots. This is why humans should do this job. There was a fairly detailed rationale, yet all that was missing was a link to this specific page. This is the only page on which the logo was used and so takes very little imagination to work out that the rationale applies to this article. Added to that, why can't bot writers spell properly?? It is a requirement from the Wikimedia Foundation that fair-use rationales, including working out to which articles they apply, be machine readable. Don't blame the bot for that. --Pak21 12:29, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

I never suggested an inanimate computer code could be responsible. It is, presumably, controlled by humans, however. And if it needs to be machine-readable then I suggest that point is made somewhere in the fair use section. All that the MoS requires is that the FU rationale be "detailed" (which it was) for each use (there is only one use...). My beef is the tone of the notification (and its illiteracy). NFCC criterion 10(c) clearly states that the name of the article for which the fair use is claimed must be specified in the image description page ("The name of each article in which fair use is claimed for the item"), and it was exactly this that the bot tagged as being the problem. --Pak21 13:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
