[edit]Dan Reynold's band, Imagine Dragons, opened for Aja Volman's band, Nico Vega, in Las Vegas. Then he watched Aja perform, she had not seen his show. He was curious about this dynamic songstress who commanded the stage like a tornado, and so they met after her show. Intrigued with one and other, these two innovative musical geniuses then began to court one and other in a year long, long distance romance. Volkman, living in Los Angeles, and Reynolds, living in Las Vegas, created the songs for Egyptian during this courtship. Since they were living in different cities and were deciding if they wanted to be in a relationship, they channeled their passion for each other into the music for Egyptian, which tells the tale of their struggle.
