Trivia
[edit]the Trivia section says "If you listen throughout the movie spider "screams" can be heard as the spiders are being killed or when they are angry. In reality humans cannot hear a spider scream." If the spider were the size of an SUV, I think humans could hear it pretty well.
Plot / Directing
[edit]Although making a reasonable impression at the box office, the film suffers from average directing. The cast, special effects and script all work hard to make the movie work, but the director wastes the opportunities available.Does anyone have more information available about the director?Ern Malleyscrub (talk) 15:48, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Stun Gun
[edit]Where does she taze that guy? It's rather unclear in the movie.
She does it when he tries to make out with her in his car just before the jumping spider attack.
Edits
[edit]In the movie she says the mall is a good place because of concrete walls and steel doors not because there are no windows. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.70.24.174 (talk) 05:10, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Budget / Box office
[edit]I've looked up the world wide grosses, including USA,it's around $43,500,000. With the movie costing $30,000,000 I'd say its about break even. I don't know if this is worth adding to the article without greater detail, references etc.Ern Malleyscrub (talk) 15:37, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Grammar
[edit]I've removed this from the trivia section:
Because of the lack of a hyphen, the title actually refers to eight freaks, each of which has at least one leg. Presumably, the intended title was "Eight-Legged Freaks."
While it is true that technically there should be a hyphen in the title, this is unlikely to be an oversight on the part of the film's producers. It's not unusual for media titles and slogans to break with grammatical convention, simply because too much punctuation can look too 'fussy'. REM deliberately avoid using apostrophes in their album titles, for instance. (Lifes Rich Pageant). Within the context of the article this sentence looks more like someone trying to show off their grammatical knowledge.
Trucker idiot
[edit]Does anyone else think the opening scene is ridiculus? I mean the trucker's driving along with a tonne of toxic waste that clearly hasn't been tied down to well and he swerves for a rabit?! That's just ridiculous! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.53.167.180 (talk • contribs)
To all of you really, really stupid idiots (Why does he swerve, where does he shock, this is supposed to be scary, etc) : THIS IS A FUCKING COMEDY MOVIE. And yes, you can hear "emotions" in spiders. They giggle and snicker when they do something sneaky and when they crash into walls they make a cartoonish "dizzy" noise.
- The spiders had to be mutated somehow. A dumb trucker not wanting to smoosh a rabbit is pretty durned logical to me. Lots42 20:11, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Jason Voorhees?
[edit]Why do we have a whole section dedicated to one miniscule cameo by a fictional character?
Even though they are discouraged on Wikipedia, a trivia section is where this belongs. Gay15boy 07:38, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- In another article was a Trivia section with lists of cameos. I took those cameos and made a section -called- 'Cameos'. Hint hint nudge nudge. Lots42 20:12, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Cops
[edit]I thought the cops arrived because they heard a bunch of people screaming. The bit about them believing in aliens but not giant spiders does not make sense. Lots42 (talk) 03:52, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Current plot
[edit]I think the plot needs to be rewritten by an expert to make it more, for lack of a better word, clear to people to have not seen the movie. Lots42 (talk) 10:30, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Title
[edit]The text currently says: "(originally titled Arach Attack, under which it was released in some parts of Europe and other countries around the world)"
The source for this is not working anymore. However, in many European countries the title is "Arac Attack" (i.e. without the "h"). So I am wondering: Was it originally really called "Arach"? I can't find any source. Schadensregulierung (talk) 09:27, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
