Brian Sewell

The version of the Elfin Oak’s history given in this article is different from that in the first volume of Brian Sewell’s autobiography, Outsider (pp. 3–4). According to him Inness sculpted and modelled the figures (partly in something called Barbola paste) in 1911, and the oak was moved to Kensington Gardens in 1930 (when Sewell’s mother helped renew the figures); it was restored again after Word War II. According to Sewell, Spike Milligan’s restoration did not take place until 1997. Ham 12:45, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
