BLP issues

[edit]

An editor seems to be determined to remove any references to the Dispatches episode, which prompted the creation of this page in the first place. The line is well sourced. EP garnered widespread national media attention only once and with that incident. It very much should be there and conforms in every way to the WP:BLP guidelines. WP:ONEEVENT. Chesdovi (talk) 14:36, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You have left the article with no references at all and WP:ONEEVENT is of no relevance. It has all to do with wp:notability.Shackwelllane (talk) 15:10, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You have added no information whatsoever about the subject besides from the Channel 4 doc. You simply created an WP:ATTACK on Padwa and that is against policy. You are also violating policy guidelines by adding disproportionate material to a BLP. Chesdovi (talk) 16:01, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This page is not a WP:ATTACK at all. I would remind you to assume good faith. Do you really believe that there is a notability issue with Padwa???? when he was reported as THE most senior haredi rabbi in the UK by several press outlets? You have removed such source refs which I will put back as will I remove the notability tag. The line is well sourced. EP garnered widespread national media attention only once and with that incident. It very much should be there and conforms in every way to the WP:BLP guidelines. People who gain notability for ONEEVENT are not notable. Chesdovi (talk) 10:47, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to LexisNexis, there are 14 articles about Ephraim Padwa that appeared in various newspapers. It's true that many of them have to do with the child abuse scandal in 2013, but there are other articles that document different newsmaking judgments by Padwa that are unrelated. The earlier published articles are with UK Newsquest Regional Press, so they may not be online. But I read them per WP:V and they exist. Oddexit (talk) 17:39, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistency

[edit]

The article is currently inconsistent. In the first paragraph, "Ephraim Eliezer Padawa" is given as an alternative name of the subject; in the "Relatives" section, it's given as the name of a cousin, who is then instead referred to as "Padawer". (It's also strange that half the article is about a relative.) Joriki (talk) 08:04, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
