Reasoning behind the article title "Eradication of suffering"

Eradication is used due to the terminology of public health and the prevention of disease: eradication of infectious diseases, eradication of smallpox, etc.

Suffering is a broader term than pain.

Abolition is also used in the lead section as an alternative title. This term is used often in David Pearce's writings.
