Largest?
[edit]Is there any support for "largest" ... how is this measured? And leading, etc....... I was looking for a generalised definition / description of an ICSD. It seems like whatever Euroclear is, this is the most defintive understanding of an ICSD. True?
- Good point (though since you did not sign, I do not know who you are). The first question is largest what. DTC is probably the largest, by any measure.
- Measures might be dollar value of transactions or dollar value of securities on deposit (DTC would be largest in both). Less important, but someone could look at number of issues eligible. DTC is still largest. I think that Euroclear would be second by all such measures. Deutsche Borse Clearing third. --Epeefleche 20:38, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is a matter of semantics, but Euroclear is the largest International CSD. The ICSDs (Euroclear & Clearstream) focus on catering for the Eurobond market, while using their infrastructure to also service domestic issuances. DTCC caters solely for US domestic securities (which is ofcourse by far the largest market). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.200.75.12 (talk) 22:21, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
