Currently a redirect

[edit]

As of early December 2017, this tour does not currently meet WP:NTOUR as it has not received significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. If you're interested in changing the redirect into an article, please add the sources to support its notability. It will likely start to gain notability early in 2018 or when tickets go on sale and the publicity machine starts rolling. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:33, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is the official U2 website: as you can see the dates are officially announced. I don't think there are more reliable sources than the band's official website itself. http://www.u2.com/tour — Preceding unsigned comment added by ValeDMU2 (talkcontribs) 22:58, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@ValeDMU2: Yes I can see the dates and I can see they were from U2's official website.
Did you read NTOUR? It's very short. Did you see that it states that a tour must have 1) significant coverage 2) in multiple independent 3) reliable sources? That relates to WP:GNG that states, if "a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article". Again, the band's own website fails on all three points there. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:29, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Remove redirect

[edit]

I thought it was time to remove the redirect now that the tour is well underway and has multiple reliable sources which can be cited to support it. I've just copied the basic outline of the Innocence + Experience tour page to get the ball rolling. Muttleee (talk) 12:05, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good thought, but the sources are not present. We've discussed adding it in draft space and moving into place once all the pieces are there. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:10, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the update. I'm pretty new to this and just assumed that people (including me) would update the page with relevant information and links in due course, since all Wikipedia pages are 'works in progress'. :) Muttleee (talk) 13:13, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
