Relevant[edit]

I wonder if its relevant that a fairly large project was undertaken to systematically study group properties as algebraic objects, almost entirely to try and prove that extensible automorphisms are inner?

For instance see some of the 22 pages in gp:Category:Terminology related to Extensible automorphisms problem, as well as the huge amounts of structure put onto group properties.

I know of several group theorists who have found his work interesting, but it is not clear to me if it is relevant to this page.

If not, then it might be best just to merge the content from here into inner automorphism, taking the Schupp article as a guide. JackSchmidt (talk) 21:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
