Canal past Fazeley Junction
[edit]The Coventry Canal Cmpany ran out of money when building their canal north-west of Fazeley Junction so it was completed by the Birmingham and Birmingham and Fazeley Company (later called BCN). The OS map incorrectly ?? shows the Birmingham and Fazeley as extending to the north-west of the junction. This is thought of today as the Coventry Canal. Oosoom Talk to me 06:40, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- The Pearson guide states that: "Technically the B&F extends 5 miles northwards to Whittington. The Coventry Canal had run out of money and momentum. So it was left to the B&F and T&M (Trent & Mersey) companies to fill the gap between Fradeley and Fazeley." Oosoom Talk to me 14:26, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, Nicholson and CanalPlan agree: The Birmingham and Fazeley extends from Fazeley Junction 5½ miles north-west as far as bridge 78, after which it again becomes the Coventry Canal ("detached portion").--Shantavira|feed me 18:37, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
