Editors

[edit]

The previous version of this page used the heading "Recent editors and significant contributors". Only editors should be listed, however, as I see no clear rationale for including "significant contributors". Conversely, if a former columnist has gone on to become famous, this might be trivia that would be interesting enough to include. Nonetheless, the current list of editors probably includes some "significant contributors". I was at IC from 1999-2002, so can only be certain of those holding tenure during that period. Please could other (older;) alumni remove people from the list that were not editors. Thanks! JVC 09:35, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, at the very least Pallab Ghosh from the 1980s and Declan Curry from the 1990s have gone on to fame and notability... Adders 16:54, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Felix logo.jpg

[edit]

Image:Felix logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Earlier editors

[edit]

I have added Bill Goodwin as editor for 1988-1989, and if I remember rightly the 1987-1989 editor was Judith Harrington (?sp). Also I may have these two editors in the wrong order. Can anyone with access to original copies verify these or others? Rupert Clayton 18:30, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm Bill and Judith's dates as well as my own (Dave Smedley). Chris Stapleton is shown as 1990 since he was elected editor but unfortunately did not meet the University requirements for degree status. Adam took up the role as the previous News Editor going into the academic year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dgsmedley (talkcontribs) 22:06, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I still have copies of Felix from 1971-1974, so should be able to add the editors for those years. The editor at the start of 1973/74 was Alisdair (sp?) Campbell (not the Labour spin doctor) I crossed swords with him while I was editor of the RCS Broadsheet. If memory serves correctly, he left late 1973 complaining that he needed to earn some money to get through his final academic year.23:18, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

I've made the correction about Alasdair Campbell and added Oliver Dowson. Felix now has its archive online at http://felixonline.co.uk/issuearchive, so someone could trawl through all the issues and add editors.00:55, 21 June 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by DigbyJames (talkcontribs)

Editors

[edit]

If I'm not mistaken, David Rowe was Felix editor in 1981-2, and M Shams Tabrez was editor the year before. Hugh Southey was editor 1984-5. I haven't changed these entries on the main page, but can anyone verify these dates?

Palab Gosh was 81-82, he also produced the imfamous banned 81 rag mag —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.89.85.182 (talk) 15:18, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
