Merge ??

[edit]

Believe this should be merged with Kenore Square Markco1 01:22, 18 November 2006 (UTC) I recalled the merge request - thanks for your input all. Markco1 05:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. Absolutely disagree. I'm a resident of the Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood, not Kenmore square. Kenmore square is just something that happens to be in the neighborhood. B.Mearns*, KSC 03:05, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Fenway-Kenmore is one of the "Neighborhoods in Boston" table/list shown on the bottom of the page. Kenmore Square is not a neighborhood, but it is one of the most recognizable squares in Boston. It would be comparable to saying that the article for Back Bay should be merged with the article for the John Hancock Tower or Downtown Crossing being merged with the article for Park Street (MBTA station); Financial District with Post Office Square, Manhattan with Times Square, etc
Oppose. It can't simply be merged. The Kenmore material might be seprated out from the Fenway material and placed in different articles, but the Fenway area (which includes, for example, the MFA all the way down by Brigham Circle, can't be lumped in with Kenmore Square.
Also, a warning about the use of the term "neighborhood". In Boston, this is an official administrative division while in almost everywhere else this is an informal term. West Roxbury and Mattapan (for example) are neighborhoods; Forest Hills is just an area within the neighborhood of JP - HouseOfScandal14:26, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

[edit]

I love the improvements that have been made to this article. I removed "nee" as I believe this was just an editing error. Markco1 (talk) 14:35, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It is nice to know that my work was appreciated. I looked into "nee" and I believe it is referring to the French term née and being used to note that streets were renamed. It was not obvious in any way and read horribly. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 14:45, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree it did not read so well - keep up the great work. Thanks Markco1 (talk) 15:03, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see you removed the former street names - I think some of what was in there was interesting - Possibly it could be written in such a way that it would not be confusing Markco1 (talk) 04:05, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I restored the missing street names. -- Beland (talk) 16:32, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
