Even though the wikiproject banner (and the history tab too, I suppose) claims that I'm requesting a photograph, I have something like a diagram in mind. I dream of horses (T) @ 03:03, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Discovered or predicted?
[edit]Did Ferranti discover this effect in his underground system after it was built, or did he predict it was going to happen and take steps to prevent it? --Wtshymanski (talk) 15:31, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
- I believe he discovered it, but I don't have a cite for that. Also his system covered an urban area and was definitely not greater than 200 km long as implied by the first sentence. Probably the 200 km requirement is for overhead lines rather than cables.

Lossless Line Approach Needed
[edit]By considering a long tranmission line(lossless) at no load, we can show the Ferranti effect mathematically. I'm currently working on it, hope it'll help. cheers AbhiMukh97Talk 11:25, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
