Extra Info?

I went to a performance with this piece a couple of days ago, and they said the lively mood of the piece was notable because it was written between Stalin's death and the invasion of Hungary by Khrushchev, during a period of optimism and hope for the Union. http://www.sfsymphony.org/music/ProgramNotes.aspx?id=54130 according to San Francisco Symphony program notes the first conductor was :Alexander Melik-Pashayev, Wikipedia say someting else., what is the truth ? He composed his Festive Overture during the first week of November 1954, and it was premiered a few days later, on November 6, with Alexander Melik-Pashayev conducting the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.111.49.101 (talk) 18:32, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
