Pouch Included with some game packages?

I was wondering something and I've looked all over the internet for it and couldn't find it, but what's the deal with some of the game packages including a FFIII DS pouch? I bought mine at Wal-Mart and it came with one but I noticed lately they aren't included with them anymore. Anyone have anymore info on this? If someone does, it should be added to the article and I could add a picture for it too. SmartSped 20:48, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

That was just a bonus that WM was giving away while supplies lasted. Circuit City had a different offer, an FF3 DS Lite skin. Neither of these were actually part of the game as shipped by the manufacturer, and probably don't belong in the article.

Cutscene Question

the commercials for this show some pretty high definition cutscenes [characters riding the chocobos, to name one]. Were these scenes rendered specifically for the commercials or does the actual game have cutscenes with quality this high? ARBlackwood 03:44, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm not that far into the game, only a couple hours in. But the commerical is actually taken from the opening cutscene of the game (when you turn it on), which is of the same quality. I don't think the rest of the game has such cutscenes, but I'm not entirely sure. JONJONAUG 15:50, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Why is there no information on gameplay?

Why is there no information on gameplay? It can't be because the game hasn't been released outside of Japan, Final Fantasy XII has gameplay information and IT hasn't been released outside of Japan. Other remakes??

I noticed this in this reception section:

"The game was released in Japan on 24 August, [[2006 in video gaming|2006. Sales for the game far exceeded Square-Enix's expectations, with 91% of its initial shipment, 503,051 copies, sold in the first week.[7] According to Director Tanaka, the game sold so well such that they are now considering remaking other Final Fantasy games.[8]"

I followed the link and read what it says, and I'm a bit intrigued. They already remade FFI and FFII and are currently remaking FFV and FFVI, so which other FF games are they talking about? FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX? I certainly hope so (well, not FFIX so much but definitely 7 and 8). I mean, it makes sense when you think about it. FFVII-FFIX are the only FFs that would really benefit from remakes. FFX doesn't need to be remade, FFXII isn't even out yet (Or FFXIII either for that matter) so if they were going to remake other FFs it would have to be FFVII, FFVIII and FFIX since they were only PS1 quality. V and VI aren't remakes, they're ports with a slight amount of new content. V, VI and VII would (if one speculates) stand to gain the most from a new coat of paint. Ex-Nintendo Employee 11:09, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Changes?

Could someone with the game begin a list of the changes? The two reviews I've read of it mention a high level of difficulty. So this probably means that the miniature dungeons, replicating enemies and lack of save points were carried over from the original. (DrZarkov 04:24, 16 November 2006 (UTC))

Incorrect info regarding Luneth.

To quote from the beginning of the article:

"The formerly generic and nameless party characters were given new default names: Luneth (Runesu), Arc (Arukū), Refia (Refia) and Ingus (Inguzu); two party members (Luneth and Refia) are now female and two(Arc and Ingus) are male."

multiplayer or not?

This game is not multiplayer, although it does have some sort of e-mail-like system that can be used to communicate with people who also have FF3. Acewolf359 21:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

You can use either local wireless LAN or WFC to send messages via Mognet. It can be used for chatting, help requests, group invites... Link 486

Yeah, it does. you have to send 7 mails in game and 7 mails to other people (luckily, it canbe the same person) and then talk to topapa to get the missing children quest.

I think that the US box art should be used, after all, this Wiki entry is for the US version, not the Japanese version.

Sorry that's not correct, this page is for information on all versions of the game. The US box art should be used unfortunately (as I prefer the Japanese) as this is what is used on all other pages for FF games have. Ajplmr 17:14, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Number of parties

23x4 is 91. The 8855 value comes from the equation for combinations, which shows how many different classes can constitute a party, and discarding all cases where you have the same combination but different orderings. See combination for the formula. (216.165.147.48 23:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC))

When somebody searches for FFIII, shouldn't this be the page they're directed to?

FFIII does redirect to Final Fantasy III, FF3 to a disamibiguation. But FFIII does link to the Famicom III, which is not Final Fantasy VI, although it does have a Disambig template linking to both this article and FF6. Webrunner 22:03, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

No, the game called Final Fantasy III on Wikipedia, is the original Famicom FF3, which Final Fantasy III (Nintendo DS) is a remake of and was never released in North America in any form until the remake. The article for Final fantasy VI is, conversely, Final Fantasy VI... To recap: Final Fantasy III is job system, crystal balance, etc. Final Fantasy VI is the US SNES FF3, with Terra, Locke, Kefka, etc. People looking for This game by searching for "Final fantasy III" will find information on the original Famicom version, which at the bottom has a section on the DS remake. You know what? I'm so incredibly stupid. I thought that article was for the American game called Final Fantasy III. But now I see that it's the original Japanese Final Fantasy III. Reception

I've added a Reception section that so far details how well the game sold after it was released (this mainly details its Japan release) it also goes into how the game has led to more games being released for Nintendo systems which should eventually be incorporated into a Legacy. On the European release date source, you say it was retrieved on May 16th, 2007, this can mean 3 things: a) you are the first inventors of a time machine b) you're disregard for Euro sales is affecting your Wiki performance c) you've made a mistake. Non-factual, colloquial addition?

"It is also one of the rarest final fantasy games in the series. if you sold it you wouln't neccencerly become rich but you could sell it for $65."

This was added under the main header of the article. I do not think that it fits in there; I intend to change that right now. I do not typically edit wikis, but this seemed so glaring that it had to be rectified.
