The source for the material on Flavus is The Annals by Tacitus, , Chapter 3, "War with the Germans" (A.D. 16). In the Penguin Classics English translation it is related on page 81-82. On pp. 238, it is noted that his son, Italicus, "was the first man/ born in Rome as a citizen . . . to proceed to a foreign throne," to wit, the leadership of the Cherusci.Kdammers (talk) 15:33, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
