Suggestions for revisions and additions

[edit]

Hi, DerekHolliday!

I think that this article is worthwhile addition to Wikipedia, especially since it is a new issue rising to prominence in South Africa. The content you have added so far is well-written and well-sourced. Try to add more scholarly sources, as you rely a lot on news sources. Additionally, add some more sources and viewpoints to the "Cultural Concerns" sections (right now you rely on a single source). There are a few minor grammar issues- particularly watch for comma splices. My main suggestions for you are to add images and to link the article with other Wikipedia articles. In terms of images, I suggest a map of Karoo and a picture of the basic hydraulic fracturing process. Look in the Wikimedia Commons for these. The article has been designated as orphaned, so be sure to add blue links within the article text, a "See also" section, and add a link to this article in the 'See also" sections of related articles. Great job and good luck moving forward with this article!

Hello, DerekHolliday!

This article is mostly well written, with a comprehensive look into fracking in South Africa. A longer introduction that offers a brief summary of what fracking is (outside of the context of South Africa) can help readers who are unfamiliar with what fracking is understand the article more. In the “Controversy” section, be sure to word your statements carefully in order to maintain a neutral tone. With these small changes, the article will improve immensely. You have done a great job with your article so far, so I am looking forward to seeing what more you do with it! Deniselee26 (talk) 23:31, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
