Use of blogs

[edit]

The use of (a small number of) blogs as (minor) sources was highlighted when I submitted the page as a potential problem that I should explain on the talk page, so here goes. Two purposes: 1) source of some original (Lingala) language lyrics in endnotes, which I think is worth including outside the article body, despite the source. (More reliable sources cited in the article body only have English or French translations of the original lyrics.) Others may be able to find the original Lingala lyrics in better sources which would be an improvement. But lacking that I think it is better to include the blogs' transcriptions of the original in those endnotes than not to have the original at all. 2) to illustrate the article's point that Boukaka is still discussed/written about, including in blogs, all over the world nearly 50 years after his death. Both uses seem appropriate to me, but I welcome discussion. Sullidav (talk) 13:20, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
