Reference
[edit]Wasn't Trojan originally referred to with female pronouns on this page? Because if so, and that's how the engine was referred to in real life, then the page should reflect that. Booger-mike (talk) 22:18, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Booger-mike: If it was, it shouldn't have been. See WP:GNL. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:03, 21 January 2023 (UTC)
- Why not? Most ships are given female pronouns on Wikipedia! Besides, if Trojan was historically referred to as "she", then the same should apply here. That's all I am saying. But if it wasn't, then I guess not. I'm not claiming to know. Booger-mike (talk) 23:11, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Because steam locomotives are not ships. We have an explicit exemption for ships, but nothing else. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:42, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- Why though? Booger-mike (talk) 20:17, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
- This is not the place to discuss a site-wide guideline. If you want MOS:GNL to be changed, please do so at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style and not at the talk page of an article for a single locomotive. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:40, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
