It would be interesting to know where their "start" price comes from as it seems to be 3 to 10 times higher than replacement appraisal.24.96.183.81 (talk) 04:14, 19 February 2010 (UTC) It was announced on Reno Local channel 8 KOLO that GemsTV is closing it's doors In April this Year (2010) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.93.77.232 (talk) 09:08, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
This page needs major restructuring and spitting
[edit]Fortunately/unfortunately due to the sale of Gems TV UK and Gems TV Japan and the closure of Gems TV Germany, Gems TV Hong Kong and Gems TV USA, plus parent company, Gems TV Holdings more or less pulling out of the market, this whole page is a mess and all over the place. So, I think it would be best to make this page the general page about Gems TV Holdings and the different channels around the world are listed in seperate sections, however they need splitting off to seperate pages too as Gems TV UK and Gems TV Japan are no longer connected in any way or are owned by Gems TV Holdings anymore and are now independent companies!
So, I propose the layout to include:
- General info about how the company started in the UK (Thaigems and Eagle Road Studios partnered up and then merged)
- The sale of shares of Steve Bennett - one of the founders of Gems TV UK before the company went onto the Singapore stock exchange and become a big company with different subsideries in 2006-2008
- The launch of Gems TV in the different companies (USA 2006, Germany 2007, Hong Kong 2009?, Japan 2009)
- The sale of Germany - Now known as Juwelo TV
- Reduction of inhouse jewellery production
- The closure of Gems TV USA and Gems TV Holdings purchasing a stake in Jewelry TV in the USA.
- Sale of Gems TV UK to Steve Bennett (one of the 5 original founders of Gems TV) and The Colourful Company Group.
- Sale of Gems TV Japan (Gems London) to Miyuki Co. Limited and now known as Gems Shopping TV
and the removal of the history of the UK channel from Gems TV to Gems TV UK.
This will take some time to sort out and reference correctly due to the www.gems.tv being removed and all the invester info was previously all listed, so out sourcing the references will have to be done.

- Just to update, I have now successfully split Gems TV UK and Gems TV USA off to their own pages. I have also cut out info not needed on this page and placed it on the respective pages for the UK & USA.
- I have began to write up the History of the company and how it started. I just need to find more sources to back up with what has been written so far and also I need to investigate the current activity of Gems TV Holdings Limited and to see what they are actually doing now that they have sold off all their TV channels etc.
