Lappspira, I think the correct word, in relation to the Belomorian, is terrane, a tectonostratigaphic unit also known as a block or domain. "Belomorian terrane" is used by numerous sources, available via a web search. Sources that use Belomorian terrain are using the wrong word - their error in English vocabulary makes them unreliable sources on this word choice. This is a common error because the two words have a similar spelling and identical pronunciation, but the meanings are very different. Terrain means topgraphic relief or topography - it seems to be the wrong word in this article because the Belomorian is a geological unit not an example/type of topographic relief. I suggest your well-intentioned good faith 11 January reversion of my original 6 January correction should be reverted again so that the article uses the word terrane instead of terrain. I will revert, since as you say its unlikely they are talking about topography. These "Fennoscandian" authors seems then to have made the same error in various publications. Lappspira (talk) 14:51, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
