Tone
[edit]It's probably an effect of the students working on it, but the article has major tone issues. There seems to be half a biography in the middle of the lead; the rest of the article is mostly a pastiche of biographies with (ironic) filler lines like ... "although most of the credit for founding the company and colony is given to a select number of people, none of it would be possible without the collective efforts of everyone in the company"; and various other issues like divergent spellings of names.
One place to start a cleanup would be the 1911 EB article, although some of the present sources could also be salvaged. — LlywelynII 19:33, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Founding
[edit]This paragraph tries to give some background but is full of mistakes and erroneous references. Germany never had 20 mio immigrants in the 1900s (unreferenced claim), the fashion of hunting had nothing to do with colonial policy, Schmoller as a significant representative of the navy campaign in Germany should at least be referenced, and German Imperialism being conceived in the 1850s , i.e. 20 years before German unification, looks nonsensical.Kipala (talk) 07:02, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
