Rectory, no; parsonage yes/maybe

The caption for the parsonage referred to it as a rectory. Caption must have been written by someone who was unfamiliar with Lutheran terminology. Catholic and Episcopal churchgoers in the U.S.A. may say 'rectory'. Lutherans would not. Even "parsonage" is not a sure thing: at least in the past, 'pastorage' was used by some English-speaking Lutheran congregations, notwithstanding its other meanings, because Lutheran congregations have pastors, not parsons. Would be interesting to hear from members of the former congregation at this particular church, or extant Lutheran churches nearby, what word they now use. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Publius3 (talk • contribs) 06:16, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The terminology was taken from the reference cited in the article: "The Motor City Missionary Baptist Church Complex consists of three buildings;. the 1891 church, an 1892 rectory and a school that was built in 1926." Andrew Jameson (talk) 15:07, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
