Not enough to reference the article but enough to prove that Givi Javakhishvili had existed.

  • Maybe it's usually transliterated differently? I'm afraid I don't know enough about Georgia to say. TallNapoleon (talk) 10:22, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Should be, but searching as Джавахишвили, I'm not able to find anything. Trying to guess the russian name, I found one article about Ivane Javakhishvili, which has his russian correspondent in Джавахишвили, Иван Александрович, transliterated: Dzhavajishvili, Ivan Aleksandrovich, so I deduce that it could be the original transliteration from russian. I found Джавахишвили Гиви Димитриевич (Dzhavajishvili, Givi Dmitrievich) in "Bolshoi Sovietskoi Encyclopedia" (Big soviet encyclopedia), with an authomatic translation (yahoo-bablefish):
Dzhavakhishvili, Givi Dmitrievich (5 (18).9.1912, Tbilisi), Soviet politician and party worker. Member of CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union) from 1940. It was born in the family of doctor. From 1944 it worked in the apparatus of TsK KP of Georgia: by deputy division head, Under Secretary of TsK, division head. In 1952-53 chairmen of the executive committee of Tbilisi town council. Since April 1953 the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Georgian SSR, since September 1953 Chairman of the council of ministers of Georgian SSR; the member of the Council of Ministers of USSR.
