Communities and locations in the Town of Goshen[edit]

I deleted this section as many of the locations mentioned are either developments or irrelevant, as most were named after railroad intersections that no longer exist (Kipps, and Finnegans Corners being prime examples of this). The listing of "Axworthy Lane" was a hold-over from years-old vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.63.115.236 (talk) 03:40, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from the WP vandalism, with all due respect, I don't agree with this philosophy. If a settlement is historically mentioned over and over in newspapers, church records, and other documents, like Finnegan's Corners is, I'd like to see it included. I search for these historic NYS settlements in WP all the time when trying to find locations mentioned. French's Gazeteer doesn't have all of NY's settlements listed, after all, and is much more cumbersome to search through than WP. These Towns all have long, rich histories that I'd hate to see truncated.

Thanks.

Pellets Island?[edit]

The WP article on the "Town of Wawayanda" also claims Pellets Island. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wawayanda,_New_York

I can't find a map clear enough to differentate. (I'm having a hard time tonight with Acme Mapper - their TOPO version has NYS Towns.)

Also, is the "Howells" you've listed the same Howells as the one along Rt 211 roughly between Middletown, Otisville, and Bloomingburg? If so, I think you need to rethink your placement of this hamlet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.49.1 (talk) 22:54, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
