Fair use concerns regarding liner notes

[edit]

I have again removed the extensive quotes from the liner notes from this article. As Wikipedia's fair use guidelines note, we may use "Brief quotations of copyrighted text." The guidelines explains further that we cannot use "Excessively long copyrighted excerpts." The liner notes would have to be extensive indeed for us to be able to justify quoting their text at that length. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:27, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment comment

[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Grand Piano (Narada Anniversary Collection)/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Article requirements:

Green tickY Start: reasonably complete infobox; lead section with overview of album; track listing; reference to at least primary personnel by name; Categorization by at least artist and year.

→Presuming the names in the tracklisting are performers, the tracklists lack composer information. In either case, it lacks a personnel section. The quote at the beginning very likely exceeds fair use allowances (unless the liner notes are extensive indeed), and I've accordingly removed it. Additional sections of text are necessary--a listing of quotes is insufficient.

Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Assessment for additional information on article class. To request a reassessment from the Album project, when concerns are addressed, please see "requesting an assessment". --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:01, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
