Planned Edits
[edit]I plan on elaborating on some of the topics already in the article, such as the formats the newspaper is produced in. Providing information on when the Granma began to be produced online, for example, could provide some context not currently present in the article. New sections will be created if added information warrants it. I also plan to add sources where possible. The "Editions" section seems to be especially lacking in sources, so adding citation is a priority there. I think an important aspect of the newspaper that is not included in the article is its role in the history of Cuba, Latin America, and the world as a whole. I'm intending on looking for and adding information regarding how the history of the newspaper fits in with broader history. For example, if a historical event involved or affected the newspaper in some way (or vice versa), that should be included in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SamJU23 (talk • contribs) 13:47, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello there!
Here are some suggestions I have based on the proposed edits.
•I think definitely dealing with the “citation needed” parts is a great idea.
•Definitely adding more historical content is essential, as there really is not a ton here. Some names for the sections could be like “Historical Background,” “Impact,” “Controversy,” “Notable Writers,” and so on. I suggest maybe also looking at other Wiki articles on newspapers and seeing what they have, and using that as inspiration for this article.
•For pictures, maybe some quality photocopies of editions of the newspaper? Possibly even a historical one that has meaning (such as one reporting on the Cuban Missile Crisis or other big events of the time).
•Make sure to have strong sources to back these up!!! Secondary sources analyzing the newspaper and its impact would be helpful, and maybe even Cuban historical figures’ perspectives on the newspaper as well.
Good luck! — Preceding unsigned comment added by KennyKetchum (talk • contribs) 16:58, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, after looking over the article and reading about your planned edits, these are my thoughts and suggestions!
- Elaborating on the topics included in the article and adding new sections and citations are all great ideas
- Including more information on the newspaper’s history and role in Cuban and global history are also great ideas
- I would suggest including more information on why the newspaper was created and how it was founded
- I would also suggest, as someone else mentioned, adding information on the paper’s impact, controversy, and notable writers
- Adding photos of newspaper editions would be good too, You could also add photos of persons, places, or events relevant to the newspaper and its articles
- The Spanish version of the article includes more information on the newspaper’s history, so I would recommend trying to look at that
Good luck editing! Gb825 (talk) 19:38, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
