fjlkdj;'
[edit]Presently, the article begins with the garbage "fjlkdj;'". It appears to have been introduced by this edit (compare previous). Huh. —Bill Price (nyb) 06:25, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Update: It's being pulled in by this template... I'll see if I can fix it. —Bill Price (nyb) 06:26, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Update again: I tracked it all the way down to this test edit on an obscure "submethod" kind of template. Sigh. Well, at least it's fixed now. —Bill Price (nyb) 06:32, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
Mileage totals
[edit]I have added up all of the mileage, and the totals are off by quite some bit. Is this just a mathematical error or is it an error of a user edit? JJGeneral1 (talk) 15:45, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Youghiogheny River Trail
[edit]This trail is a major component of the Great Allegheny Passage trail. There doesn't seem to be a clear reason for separating this out into its own article. Bitmapped (talk) 19:41, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
It would be fine to combine the entries. The Yough River trail ceased to exist once the Great Allegheny Passage was completed. During the development of the GAP, each of the individual pieces of the trail had their own name. This corresponded with the various non profits and groups that formed to deal with the construction and management of the individual pieces. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.166.92.2 (talk) 18:56, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
I also vote "yes" for merging in the YRT article. The GAP was built as chain of connecting trails, each with its own organization and unique (or semi-unique) name. I believe these include the Allegheny Highlands Trail of Maryland, the Allegheny Highlands Trail of Pennsylvania, the Youghiogheny River Trail (South), the Youghiogheny River Trail (North), the Steel Valley Trail, the Eliza Furnace Trail (AKA the Jail Trail), which is part of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, and finally that little partially-complete bit between the jail and Point State Park, also part of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. Note that not all of these have Wikipedia articles... We could, hypothetically, create a stub article for each of these segments, but I think a better option would be to have one higher quality Great Allegheny Passage article including information of all the segments. As such, I think the existing GAP segment articles should be merged into the main GAP article, with the exception of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail article, which is only partially contained withing the GAP. With the Three Rivers Heritage Trail; it seems best to keep this independent article, but duplicate its relevant GAP information in the Great Allegheny Passage article.
Once merged, the GAP article could include a section entitled "segments of the trail", or something like that. This section could include a sub-section for each historic segment of the GAP, including the north and south YRT, the AHT, the SVT, et cetera. Segment-specific information from each existing Wikipedia article could be merged into the appropriate subsection, with more generic information included elsewhere in the expanded Great Allegheny Passage ArticleMDK33 (talk) 06:06, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
