Hello! I will compete this review within a week. -Riley1012 (talk) 23:49, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good Article review progress box
Criteria: 1a. prose () 1b. MoS () 2a. ref layout () 2b. cites WP:RS () 2c. no WP:OR () 2d. no WP:CV ()
3a. broadness () 3b. focus () 4. neutral () 5. stable () 6a. free or tagged images () 6b. pics relevant ()
Note: this represents where the article stands relative to the Good Article criteria. Criteria marked are unassessed

1. Well-written

  • "...to represent the country with the song "What They Say", which he..." the comma should be inside the quotation mark
  • "...legal challenge by second-place candidate Melissa Mantzoukis, however, Vernicos' participation..." should be a semicolon after Mantzoukis instead of a comma
  • "To promote the "What They Say" as the Greek entry..." remove the word "the" before the song title
  • " 2016-entrant Argo with their song "Utopian Land", was the nation's first entry to not qualify to the final." This sentence needs to be reworded so that it does not start with a year. I would suggest, "The first entry to not qualify for the final was Argo's song "Utopian Land" in 2016.
  • "...Greece's participation in the contest since their debut in 1974..." Change the word "their" to "its"
  • "106 songs were received by the submission deadline." Sentences should not start with numerals. Change to "There were 106 songs received by the submission deadline."
  • What does Proian se eidon tin mesimvrian mean in English? Add the English translation to the text.
  • "Vernicos' entry, "What They Say",..." Again, the comma needs to be inside the quotation mark ("What They Say,")
  • "...as part if its A Little Bit More series." typo- should be of instead of if
  • "...the stage presence as "Greek summer"." The period should be inside the quotation mark.
  • "It was later revealed that the Greece placed 13th..." remove the word "the" before Greece
  • "...its worst result to this point in terms of points received in a semi final. Add a hyphen for semi-final
  • The list of the Greek jury members in the "Detailed voting results" subsection isn't necessary since it is already listed in the "Voting" section
  • "...Thank you to all Eurovision fans for the amazing experience"." The period should be inside the quotation mark.

2. Verifiable
Earwig's Copyvio check is fine- the 20% similarity is all of the statistics in the points section, not the actual prose.

  • For the sources that are in Greek, would you be able to translate the titles into English and add |trans-title to each citation template?
  • Spot check:
  • 1: The source states that Greece has participated 44 times (assuming this includes 2023), but the article states that prior to 2023, Greece had participated 42 times.
  • No issues: 8, 13, 22, 24, 30, 38, 47, 52, 56.
  • What is the source for the Eurovision voting rules that are detailed at the beginning of the "At Eurovision" section?

3. Broad
The article covers all of the major points. I'm assuming there haven't been any updates on the lawsuit since July?

4. Neutral
The article is neutral

5. Stable
This article is stable day-to-day

6. Illustrated
The two images in the article are free and have relevant captions

Thanks @Riley1012: I've made most of corrections above except for below.
  1. Left quotation punctuation as is since this article does not follow American conventions as a European subject (see Quotation marks in English).
Well I learned something new today. Thanks for pointing this out. -Riley1012 (talk) 22:19, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  1. The 44 participations is tough because they counted the 2021 canceled contest in that number despite there not actually being a contest. The 43 times is therefore WP:CALC.
Okay, I did not know that about 2021, so that makes sense. -Riley1012 (talk) 22:19, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  1. The jury members being repeated is customary in these articles and serves as a reminder for when folks are looking at the tables.
Sounds fine to me. -Riley1012 (talk) 22:19, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have a couple more translations to get to. Grk1011 (talk) 21:16, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Riley1012: This should be all set! Thanks for taking on the review. If you're using this for the Drive, I noticed that for whatever reason the prose size tool leaves out the Reception paragraph so you might need to manually add it up. Also if you have time, please consider reviewing San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 as I'd like to get it added to the Good Topic. Thanks again. Grk1011 (talk) 15:44, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks! I may be able to get to it next week. -Riley1012 (talk) 16:18, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
