I have been an Orient supporter since 1953
I have never heard of Clapton / Leyton Orient FC using Green Pond Road as a home ground for First Team matches' There is no reference in any of thr official club histories which list the grounds which the club has called "Home" throughout its existence as follows:-
1881 Glyn Road, Clapton
1896 Whittles Athletic Ground, Clapton
1900 Millfields Road, Clapton
1930 Lea Bridge Road, Clapton (Two home league matches were played at Wembley Stadium in 1930 while alterations were being made at Lea Bridge Stadium)
1937 to date Brisbane Road, Leyton.
It is possible that Orient used Green Pond Road for reserve or youth team matches from time to time but I can find no evidence of it being used by their first team. It was quite an atmospheric old ground, but I don't remember it being triangular!
