I feel this definition is a little vague, as is the picture. We are trying to find exact difference between gulch, ditch, gully, valley, ravine. What I don’t understand is the “V shaped” used in this definition. Is this V shaped looking at a vertical cross section or a top-down view? Also, are gulches vast land features between mountains, or small local features? From the picture, is the gulch in the far distance between the mountains (km scale V shape between the two mountains), or is it the small round depression close to the camera and in the center of the image... that looks like a small bowl-shaped pool, has a U-shaped cross section, and has a round shape looking from the top? The definition says deep and V-shaped, I don’t see anything deep or V shaped in the pic. The definition also says gulches are usually larger than a gully, but this picture seems like a rather small round depression in the ground.
