Merge from AARON

[edit]

There doesn't seem to be any need or advantage for a separate article for AARON. Cohen is notable for his lifetime's work, which is AARON. To my knowledge AARON only seems to have primarily (if not exclusively) programmed and used by Cohen, bar a screen saver that is no longer available. Jonpatterns (talk) 20:52, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cohen is notable separately from AARON and vice versa. Cohen was an internationally exhibited and recognised artist prior to starting work on AARON. The biography of him on this page does not represent this and needs improving to do so. AARON being programmed and used by a single individual (over the course of 40+ years...) is neither here nor there - it is notable as the most innovative and longest-running experiment in applying AI techniques to art and has received coverage in the specialist and general media that makes this clear. So a merge makes no sense. But this page can and should be improved. --Rob Myers (talk) 02:14, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would argue that AARON only appears to be part of Cohen's life, no one else appears to have used it. I agree it is notable in its own right, but there is nothing to write about it that doesn't involve Cohen. It is probably a contender for longest running program AI art program, but I doubt it is most innovative. Jonpatterns (talk) 11:23, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given that there is opposition and no support in over a year. Klbrain (talk) 17:19, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
