Object to deletion

[edit]

I object to the deletion of this entry. All of the information is factual and unbiased. The references are relevant and not self-promoting sources. The original entry was not created by a member or direct relative of the band. There should be no reason for this to be removed. Harrisgrade (talk) 03:18, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody claimed conflict of interest on the deletion. However, no reliable sources have been given to establish encyclopedic notability of a band. Please read WP:NMUSIC closely- which criteria does it meet? If none are found, this article will likely go to the articles for deletion process. However, now that you mention it, the single purpose account used to create the article is somewhat suspicious, and it reads very much like the Kickstarter entries, which is a copyright violation (and supports the conflict of interest theory you just raised). tedder (talk) 04:59, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:NMUSIC Harris Grade meets #9. They won a major competition and got to play at the Pamona Warped tour here is an article featuring Harris Grade in the warped tour highwiredaze.com. Also, I created this article and wouldn't consider my account to be a single purpose account. There are many articles, press releases, videos of Harris Grade and radio interviews and felt a wikipedia page was in order. Cybidium (talk) 06:50, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree that getting a single tour date (and by extension, the Battle of the Bands competition) qualifies as a "major music competition". A major music competition would be American Idol or the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Most bands have videos on youtube and a Myspace page. Again, if stronger sources aren't found, articles for deletion is where the community will decide on this. tedder (talk) 13:21, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

associated acts

[edit]

Please see Template:Infobox musical artist#Associated_acts for notes on how to determine if an act is associated. Appearing in a video is a tenuous connection, as the template makes clear. tedder (talk) 06:10, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
